The analysis should belong to the person who ran the experiment.

OpenBionode is a small company in Melbourne building visual bioinformatics for the scientists who generate the data, so the wait between a finished run and a result is days, not months.

Why we are building it

Sequencing got cheap. Analysing what comes off the sequencer did not. Most labs generate data faster than anyone in the building can analyse it, and the people who can are shared between many groups.

The tools themselves are excellent and freely available. What stands between a biologist and their own result is the plumbing: installing things, connecting them, running them on a machine big enough, and remembering exactly what was done.

OpenBionode takes the plumbing away and leaves the science. You choose the steps and the settings; it does the rest, and keeps the record.

What we hold ourselves to

Established tools, not our own

Every step runs a tool your field already published and trusts. We build the canvas around them; we do not replace them with something you would have to justify to a reviewer.

Nothing hidden behind a node

Any step can be opened to show exactly what it runs and with which settings. A canvas that hides the method is one nobody can put in a paper.

Start where you already are

Your own computer today. Your cluster or the cloud when the data outgrows it, with the same pipeline and nothing rebuilt.

Talk to us

If you run a lab, a core facility or a biotech team and the analysis queue is the slow part, we would like to hear about it.

Bring the analysis you’ve been waiting on.

OpenBionode is in early access. Tell us what you analyse and we’ll make sure the steps you need are ready when your seat opens.

Early access for research labs. No spam, just one note when your seat opens.
